I don’t think it heightens violence, but they can help “train” for


those situations. The flying simulators are an example as are racing sims. I used one during the winter to keep sharp when I used to race. The visual effects of pitch and roll as well as being able to hit the same marks on the track were very helpful. As with almost anything nowadays, evil people can use innocent objects and activities for wrong purpose.
